I've always been a bit of a fan of poetry, though to be honest I wouldn't sit down and read a book of it, I much prefer to write it. My poetry writing is fairly varied; I write beautiful pieces that are fitting for cards, letters or just when you want to say something meaningful to someone. The vows I wrote for our wedding are one such piece and our celebrant even asked to continue to use these in his ceremonies in the future. I also write some darker pieces, when I'm feeling troubled or anxious, it's a wonderful outlet for emotion.

I hope you enjoy these pieces and if you would like to use them in anything please just email me and ask - I will probably say yes as long as my name gets a mention!

Together, we are.

I originally started writing this poem when I was thinking about our wedding and in particular, our vows but it quickly evolved into something that I didn't think was quite right for my vows so I used this in my speech at our wedding reception instead.

This is cute and fun, but from the heart too.

What is Love?

What is Love?

I recently tied the knot and in the lead up to the ceremony and wedding, my partner and I were both in agreement that we would write our own vows. Me being the creative person that I am, decided that the love you feel for someone, the love I feel for him, is best described through poetry.

I wrote this poem as my wedding vows. It means a lot to me and I hope you can feel a little of what I feel by reading it. Our Celebrant was actually really moved by this particular poem that he asked to use it in his ceremonies going forward. If you would like to use it, please ask (I will probably say yes) and make sure you reference me as the author.
