Okay... so realistically I could craft a list way longer than ten, but these lists always seem to be ten in length. Maybe because you'll lose interest if it's any longer. Nonetheless, these little observations kept popping into my head at random times over the past few months, and I just felt the need to share. So here we go!

Quite often there just simply doesn't feel like enough hours in the day. That could be part of the reason I don't like sleeping, but that's another post entirely. This one is about how each day feels like every minute is occupied, I don't have any "free time" anymore.

But the more I think about this, the more I realise it isn't true. Each day is filled with choices, and you choose what to do in your free time. The problem is... you can't choose everything, so how do you choose anything!

To say time flies feels like a complete understatement at the moment, and all those times people have said to me "they grow up so fast", couldn't feel any more true than at this precise moment. The scary thing is... I think it's just the beginning!

My baby girl is almost 7 months old. And with every day comes new learnings - not just for her, but for me as well! Just when you start to get the hang of things, a new chapter of parenthood begins.

What a busy two months! Christmas has been and gone (only 11 months until next Christmas!), summer feels like it has arrived, holidays from work for most are wrapping up and my baby girl has turned 5 months old!

We had a vacation to visit the grandparents, and during that time, she got to experience the Magic of Christmas. Or at least My Magic of Christmas.

Amy Schumer might have brought this hashtag into the limelight recently, and incidentally I have found myself encountering so many moments where it is applicable. I don't know if it's a post-partum thing or my general disposition which prompts me to provide unwarranted apologies all over the show. 

Maybe it's time we stop worrying about what other people think so much and say #SorryNotSorry. 

I might be putting early pressure on our baby girl to be a wee fashionista, given I am calling her 'late' arrival at 41 weeks intentionally fashionably late, but late or not, she arrived safely just after midnight on the 11th of August and in the words of Metallica... nothing else matters. 

So now that bubs is on the scene, I sense my life and subsequent posts may change somewhat! But first let me introduce you...

If pregnancy starts off slow whereby each day you are desperate to see a new change in your body, then the end of pregnancy is like the turtle's part of the race. We all know slow and steady is the right approach, but I don't know too many who haven't started to feel a bit of impatience at this point... and I'm not even overdue yet! 

That's right, still another two days to go until the EDD, so how am I coping with what seems so near and yet so far.

Wow... I can't believe how close I am now! As of today, I am officially considered at term i.e. if bubs was born tomorrow, she wouldn't be a prem baby despite being 37 weeks. Anyway, to try and stop myself obsessing over when I am going to go into labour, recently I have been focussing on a positive exercise, that can be applied even when in the throes of pregnancy. 

I call it... Small wins. And as the name suggests, it's all about celebrating the little things in life! Don't worry, examples to come!

It is getting closer and closer, and as such, I am starting to knock off those items in my to-do list that have been deliberately left to the home stretch. One such item... Maternity Pics!

I got inspired very early on in the journey with some beautiful pregnancy photography shots on Pinterest and have since been planning my own. With some beautiful weather and my man behind the camera, we captured my perfect maternity shots. I hope you enjoy!

Well, I would like to say that during my impatient moments of third trimester I have had plenty to keep me occupied; shopping for bubs, compiling a maternity wardrobe, and perhaps the most exciting... setting up the nursery. However, and it shouldn't really be a surprise given my day job of a Project Manager, I am actually fairly well organised, having finished my shopping a couple months ago, and even having finished the nursery too.

It has ineveitably left me a lot less to occupy my antsy weekend afternoons, so instead I thought it time I share some nursery pics!

As I have now hit the third trimester (hurrah!), I have noticed myself becoming more reflective; looking back on my pregnancy to date, and comparing it to the vision, the expectations, that I have been dreaming of in my head since when I first decided I want a baby.

And whilst there is plenty that is textbook, there's been a few ins and outs of my pregnancy, that hadn't appeared in my pregnany fantasies!

The second trimester is known to be the favourite, and this certainly isn't unfounded; You've past the nausea and tiredness of first trimester, and you're yet to reach the uncomfortable and exhaustiveness of third trimester. And up until 3-4 weeks ago, I was certainly in agreement. 

Feeling wonderfully happy, surprisingly energetic, and as close to normal as one can be, I then discovered the science of sciatica. 

There is no doubt about it, the body goes through some pretty drastic changes while one is pregnant... most of which I'm foregoing thinking about for the time being. However, the waistline of my jeans didn't let me ignore some of those physical impacts relatively early on in my pregnancy.

Despite the frustration of no longer being able to wear 80% of my clothes, I couldn't help but get a little excited at the thought of forming up my Maternity Capsule Wardrobe! 

It's an interesting thing being pregnant. Not just for all of the drastic changes your body is going through, or conceptually trying to get your mind around the thought of actually growing a baby (still haven't quite grasped that one yet!). But moreso, because everyone has an opinion.

I'm not talking about the barrels of, what has been described to me as, unsolicited parenting advice - don't worry, I'll write on that soon - but even non-parents have plenty of unspoken (and spoken!) judgements.

We've all heard of the fabled 'baby brain' whereby pregnant chicks are as forgetful as... the opposite of an elephant. I like to think that I have been pretty devoid of baby brain symptoms to date, though I have been warned that it tends to worsen the farther through pregnancy you get.

So, having just hit half way, perhaps I am in for some baby brain experiences when I hit the third trimester. And actually, come to think of it, there might be one or two examples I can think of after all..
