Sense of Beauty - Freckled Felines

It's time for another edition of Sense of Beauty and this time around we are showcasing a fabulously fierce feature that can often be a point of ridicule as kiddies... there are so many traits that fit this description, but today it's all about Freckles!

Most of us have at least a couple, but what about those people who have a lot, with looks that are almost defined by their freckles. Yep our freckly friends deserve some time in the spotlight where all of us can appreciate their Sense of Beauty!

The Waiting Game Sucks… Let's Play Hungry Hungry Hippos!

Can you believe we are in September already? Yep, don't think too hard about it as, if you're anything like me, while the thought of the festive season quickly approaching will have you smiling cheerily, these thoughts are quickly shadowed as your mind becomes burdened with questions of "where has the time gone?!" and flashes of best intentions still hanging by the wayside.

What am I getting at in particular? Well, as the optimistic Piscean characteristic continues to dominate my livelihood, I certainly had aspirations that I had planned to have achieved by now. Namely... my book!

Elephants and Bicycles

Elephants and Bicycles

It's been a wee while since I've had a "proper job", and by proper, what I'm really trying to say is one that funds my growing shoe wardrobe, but since moving to New Zealand my prospects of employment increased tenfold. Where Melbourne was a dry desert wasteland, Wellington is an oasis of opportunity to the point where I had barely even acquired a door, before the opportunities came a knockin'.

Admittedly they weren't straight up offers rolling on in, but something on my CV was enticing enough to lure interest...

Fabulous Fashion Find - Rockstar Glam

Fabulous Fashion Find - Rockstar Glam

It's that time again to share with you some Fabulous Fashion Finds, and the theme of this post is a style of fashion very close to my heart. A mixture of tough chick features such as spikes and studs, leather, and pants so tight they would make Tom Cruise's character in Rock of Ages, Stacee Jaxx, blush. Combine this with various fabric choices, pops of colour and feminine frills, and you get a style I dub as... Rockstar Glam!

Take a look below at just some of the FFF's that I've found and would make the perfect addition to your wardrobe if you're wanting to rock (hehe, see what I did there...) this look!

Style Snapshot - Boyfriend Jeans

They seem to pop up every season nowadays and their popularity is as divided as Jacob and Edward Twihards, but this time around the Boyfriend Jean looks like it is winning over a larger audience of the fashion community.

Which side of the fence am I on? To be honest, I've never been a big fan of this particular style as I think the silhouette can be pretty hard to work and very dependent on body shape, but with its growing popularity there appears to be a greater range on offer. Maybe there might just be one I like after all, nestled amongst this Style Snapshot!

Tights As Pants - The TAP Phenomenon

As we dwindlers of the southern hemisphere approach the end of winter, or for us living in more... shall we say, robust? destinations, are nearing the middle of winter, I wanted to take a moment to address a much discussed and scrutinised topic of the fashion community... tights, or more specifically tights as pants.

Yep that's right, it's popped up as often as a new addition to the Jolie-Pitt clan, so with everyone else expressing an opinion on whether or not this fashion... trend(?) is appropriate, and if it is, what the rules are, I thought it was time I got in my two cents.

Questions and Authors - Amanda Egan

There are so many ways for writers to learn tricks of the trade, better understand techniques such as story structure and character development, and pick up general tips for the publishing journey. In particular, hearing from other writers - whether published or not - can be really valuable, not necessarily because of their "insider secrets", but moreso because it can inspire us with our own writing.

The latest section in the Rabbit Hole is about discovering the journey an author has taken, the challenges, the successes, the inspiration, and the future...

Fabulous Fashion Find - Graphic Tee - Minimalist

Fabulous Fashion Find - Graphic Tee - Minimalist

I know, I know, I keep adding more and more categories - particularly to the fashion section, in the Rabbit Hole, but this one is definitely worthy, trust me! The newest addition is the Triple F: Fabulous Fashion Find, and will be one-offs or small collations of little fashion snippets I so happen to stumble across.

To kick start us off, I've chosen the Graphic Tee and the Minimalist look which is just oh-so-cute, I can just imagine throwing one of these on while I ride my vintage bicycle through the streets of Paris, baguette sticking out of the basket... Yeah I eat more carbs in my daydreams.

The 'F' Word

The 'F' Word

After a long period of time hunting for work in Melbourne, My husband and I have made the decision and are making the move back to our previous hometown, Wellington, New Zealand.

What was perhaps most interesting however, was when we both acknowledged it as the 'right' decision, at the same time, there was a sense of sadness about the whole thing, because we had essentially made a commitment of sorts to stay in Melbourne post-wedding, and to now be up and leaving, leaves us with a feeling of defeat, like somehow, we are almost giving up. We have failed.

Home Is Where The Heart Is - Chalk and Cheese

I am a lover of fashion... which I'm sure is not an astonishing confession, but to the disgrace of my teenage self, my fashion fondness has begun to extend beyond the standard apparel of the wardrobe. Yep, that's right, I am totally captivated by homeware, interior design and decor that my husband (and most males I would care to wager) thinks is stupid and on the verge of 'clutter'.

So in order to cater to my new found friendship, I have dedicated this category to cute homewares I simply must gush about to someone who is more likely to care than my man!

Style Snapshot - The Overall Look

Is it a plane? Is it a bird? No and no. And wait a second... it's not Superman either, but like our beloved lyrcra-underwear-on-the-outside-of-his-pants hero, this Style Snapshot is also a blast from the past! That's right, it seems the surge of 90's fashion has continued and another trusty wardrobe staple that we thought we had left behind with our Mickey Mouse t-shirts, has resurfaced in time for Spring/Summer 2014.

It appears to be looking like quite the wide-spread trend, so what's in store for you and are you ready to dabble with the dungarees once more!

Shazzle Dazzle - Wigs, Schwings and Pussy Galore

No, it's not the name of a bad porno, and don't pretend you weren't thinking something dirty. Instead, this latest segment within the Rabbit Hole is a bit of an insight into what's trending in my world.

That's right, we all have our own little short-term fetishes and sometimes these might be in reaction to celebrities or a mainstream trend, but if you're anything like me, then often you simply discover something you like and regardless of whether it's on trend or not, you're adamant that it's cool enough for you.

Current Crazes and Crystal Gazes - The Post-Apocalypse, Futuristic Sci-Fi

Current Crazes and Crystal Gazes - The Post-Apocalypse, Futuristic Sci-Fi

Following in a similar theme from the last Current Crazes and Crystal gazes on Vampires and Zombies, this edition is also about what's trending on our screens; The Post-Apocalypse, Futuristic Sci-Fi. Though these genres have been around a long time, it seems more recently they have popped up and multiplied as quickly as a wet Gremlin.

So what is it that's making these genres have a surge in popularity when they have been around for like... ever! And what will be the new flavour of the month when the trends disappear back into oblivion.

The (Reoccurring) Quarter Life Crisis

I know no one likes to read a blog that is filled with whinging, and believe me this is not a disclaimer to say that this is the underlying theme of this post, but there's really no point in having a website if one cannot express their thoughts - which may sometimes err on the side of nonsensical, unbecoming or discontented ranting.

To be slightly clearer, this post probably falls into a cross between nonsensical and discontented ranting, in that it is a myriad of thoughts that I merely feel the need to express in the best way I know how... via the written word.
