But Wait… There's More!

Normally the expression "But wait... there's more!" refers to those infamous home shopping commercials offering up two for the price of one deals on everything from vacuums to a convertible TV dinner table.

But when it comes to writing, or more specifically, the world of self publishing, this expression is applicable in every sense of the word! It's been a little while since I published Four of a Kind, but wait.. . there is definitely more!

Self Publishing - Wake Up and Smell The Roses

According to my last post, Self Publishing - The Write Way, my expected publication date for my debut novel was cited as March, 2014, and you may have noticed... we're currently in March! So where am I at? Is my book bound for the shelves or still gathering virtual dust on my hard drive.

It's time for an update on my journey to New York Times Best Sellers list... because it's just a matter of time now, surely!

To Be or Not To Be

To Be or Not To Be

Perhaps I'm still feeling philisophical having just finished off a book on the philosophy of Inception, and this is why I'm choosing to title my latest spiel on my journey to becoming a New York Times Best Seller upon a Shakespeare quote, but without even delving into any detail, it just felt right.

When one comes up against a wall, we often think "perhaps it's just not meant to be". To be or not to be... that is the question. Or perhaps it is a choice.

Questions and Authors - Amanda Egan

There are so many ways for writers to learn tricks of the trade, better understand techniques such as story structure and character development, and pick up general tips for the publishing journey. In particular, hearing from other writers - whether published or not - can be really valuable, not necessarily because of their "insider secrets", but moreso because it can inspire us with our own writing.

The latest section in the Rabbit Hole is about discovering the journey an author has taken, the challenges, the successes, the inspiration, and the future...

The Waiting Game

...and the quest for the golden basket!

The Waiting Game

I have been inundated with emails and messages from you all, desperate to know whether I have heard anything from the agency I submitted my debut novel to 19 days ago - not that I'm counting or anything... ahem. And okay... I haven't really had any enquiring messages, but I thought it was time I update you anyway.

So what's the story? Have I heard anything yet? A good salesman doesn't give away everything upfront so I shall entice your click through by holding back the reveal just yet! Though maybe this article title kind of gives it away... doh!

One small step for Shaz, One giant leap for New York Times

So I have just hit a huge milestone in my life, no I'm not talking about getting hitched a couple of weeks ago, that's old news (ahem...), nor am I talking about recently celebrating my birthday (to be honest, does anyone really celebrate birthdays once they hit their mid-20's?) instead I am referring to my journey to becoming the next New York Times bestselling novelist. Have I got an Agent? Am I getting published? Is the book tour lined up? Wait just a minute there cowboy and put those guns back in their holsters.
